Who was the first person  to look at a cow and say, 'I think I'll squeeze these dangling things here and  drink whatever comes out?'

Who was the first person to say, 'See that chicken there? I'm gonna eat the next thing that comes outta  it.'

Antoine de Saint-Exupery Happiness depends upon ourselves. Aristotle You have to do your own growing no matter how tall your grandfather was. Abraham Lincoln You have the ability, with your words, to make a person stronger. Your words are to their soul what a vitamin is to their body. Do not withhold encouragement from the discouraged. Do not keep affirmation from the beaten down! Speak words that make people stronger. Believe in them as God has believed in you. Max Lucado A Love Worth Giving Love is an act of will: listening to someone when we are bored, keeping that perfectly couched comeback to ourselves, letting old Mrs. Jones win the argument over something unimportant, biting our tongues instead of reminding others of our triumphs. Love is the decision to behave a certain way even when we don't feel like it. Leslie Williams Seduction of the Lesser Gods Understand that the right to choose your own path is a sacred privilege. Use it. Dwell in possibility. Oprah Winfrey Hospitality is a grand gesture of acceptance. Christ's hospitality is forgiveness and acceptance. It welcomes friends and family, strangers and sinners. Because we live in Christ, the hospitality with which we welcome others is generated by a deep, passionate, single-minded love of Jesus extended to all corners. Hospitality comes from the heart, Christ's true home. Harriet Crosby A Place Called Home To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive untold peace and happiness. Robert Muller The Greek word translated "workmanship" is poiema; it means "something made" and gives us the English word poem. The Christian who boasts, "I'm a self-made person!" doesn't understand this basic principle that God must work in us before He can work through us. He must prepare us for what He has prepared for us. Warren W. Wiersbe A man wrapped up in himself makes a very small bundle. Benjamin Franklin The whole idea that our lives belong to us is a myth, and an arrogant assumption when it comes right down to it. I did not conceive myself; I wasn't my own idea. Pirsig Many Bible passages (such as Luke 13:3 or Acts 2:38) issue a call for repentance. Repentance? The very thought stops our hearts with chilling honesty, for it insists that we come clean before we set out to execute life's important choices. Repentance demands that we choose a path of holy living. Calvin Miller God is in the business of restoration, and he's been doing it for a long, long time. We're merely his partners, his apprentices. We're working with a pro! Today open your heart and let God's touch bring restoration to those areas of your life that need repair. Then go and touch others with his restoring love. Amy Nappa We are products of our past, but we don't have to be prisoners of it. God's purpose is not limited by your past. Kendall Hailey Being happy is something you have to learn. I often surprise myself by saying "Wow, this is it. I guess I'm happy. I got a home I love. A career that I love. I'm even feeling more and more at peace with myself." If there's something else to happiness, let me know. I'm ambitious for that, too.
