  • If anyone thinks he has no responsibilities; it is because he has not sought them out. --Mary Lyon (1797-1849)

Close the Gap Between Intentions and Actions | MWM
Accountability closes the gap between what we intend to do, and what we actually do = We often judge ourselves by our intentions, but we judge others by their actions. This is where accountability comes in. Accountability closes the gap between what we intend to do, and what we actually do. So, find someone you trust to be accountable to, they will help you stay on track and let you know where your actions and intentions need improvement.

Who Are You Accountable To? | MWM
Reach Your Potential With Accountability = John Maxwell’s new book, High Road Leadership, discusses how high road leaders set themselves apart from people who travel the middle or low road. High road leaders do this by taking accountability for their actions. They admit mistakes. Power corrupts, but a high road leader stays accountable to other people, which helps keep them on track. When you are accountable, others will help you be a better person than you could have become on your own.

A Big Miss in People's Lives | MWM
Energy Expended Is Energy Returned = Connecting always requires energy. When you are connecting with people, you need to give it your all—you have to enter someone else's world and find common ground, which requires energy, but the energy expended will give you a higher return.

Passionate leaders are never lacking energy. When you have passion—when you are passionate about a goal, a dream, a life-altering, difference-making idea, or a concept determined to change the world—you will never lack the drive to get it done. You might have setbacks or roadblocks that get in your way, but you will have the energy to keep going, to overcome. So, what are you passionate about? Wake up energized and go get it!

Diversity Quotes

 Quotes about Diversity

  • Diversity: the art of thinking independently together.  --Malcolm Forbes
  • It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength.  --Maya Angelou
  • If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity.  --John F. Kennedy
  • Diversity may be the hardest thing for a society to live with, and perhaps the most dangerous thing for a society to be without.

Let Diversity Strengthen Your Team | MWM
When you bridge the generational gap, you make everything stronger! = There are five generations represented in many workplaces today, and yes, this can make things a bit complicated. Each generation has something to offer, but they are more alike than they are different.  When you really look at it, our reactions, our priorities, and our quirks aren't really tied to our generation, they are tied to our age and our season of life—our current life challenges are what shape how we show up more than what decade we were born. And when we lean into what makes us different, and what makes us similar, everyone wins.
At the end of the day, diversity of age and experience isn't just nice to have, it's valuable—when you embrace it, you don't just bridge the generational gap, you make something stronger.

A New Kind of Diversity | MWM

Learners And Teachers = Meet John C. Maxwell’s friend, Tim Elmore—a TEDx speaker, thought leader, and author—as he speaks on diversity, this week on Minute with Maxwell.

Generational diversity is very present in today’s workforce. Like other types of diversity, it can make teams better as different people bring different skills to the table. Everyone is a learner and a teacher.

In this episode of the Maxwell Leadership Executive Podcast, we discuss how to increase personal productivity and the five essential decisions leaders need to make in order to boost their efficiency and achieve remarkable results.

Inclusive Organizations with Exclusive Values Make the Greatest Impact
Welcome Diverse Thoughts And Perspectives = We are divided as a population. Inclusivity is all about welcoming and including other perspectives, backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and income levels. When an organization has a more inclusive group of varied perspectives, the organization is better and makes better decisions.
It is also important to be exclusive based on values. So, figure out your values—be exclusive based on values—but be inclusive in every other area! Welcome a diversity of thought and perspective into your life, so you can be your very best self.

Credibility Quotes

Quotes about Credibility
  • It's not about how much movement you do, how much interaction there is, it just reeks of credibility if it's real. If it's contrived, it seems to work for a while for the people who can't filter out the real and unreal. -- Fred Durst
  • For every credibility gap there is a gullibility gap.  --Richard Cobden
  • It is never too late to regain our credibility around the world.  --Marty Meehan
  • Foreign policy will require a strategic agility that, whenever possible, gets ahead of problems, strengthens U.S. security and alliances, and promotes American interests and credibility.  --Chuck Hagel
  • Credibility is someone else's idea of what I should be doing.  --Paul Stanley
  • In the end, you make your reputation and you have your success based upon credibility and being able to provide people who are really hungry for information what they want.  --Brit Hume

Real is Beautiful | MWM
Credibility Is Being The Best You Can Be = Credibility is being the best person you can possibly be—you have some successes and losses, and people are drawn to you because there is something beautiful about a person that is real. People don’t want perfection, they want authenticity and credibility. They want you to be the best you can be.

Live Out Your MessageLive Out Your Message = The most effective message is the one you live. That means the message we have for others should be more than what we say, it must be who we are and what we do. Moral authority in teaching and communicating comes from our actions, not our words. The Law of Credibility is essential to be effective as a communicator.

Be who you are = It doesn't matter who anyone else is trying to become, it matters who you are trying to become. Focus on being the best person you can possibly be and strive to be the best version. Be true to yourself, be real, and focus on your growth and potential first.

CREDIBILITY, n. [L.] Credibleness; the quality or state of a thing which renders it possible to be believed, or which admits belief, on rational principles; the quality or state of a thing which involves no contradiction, or absurdity.
