Take a Risk, Reap the Reward
The good stuff always comes with risk—and inevitable failure—and then another risk. Playing it safe will get you the bare minimum—the leftovers, even—all the discarded scraps that those who were willing to take the risks left behind. To get the ripest, juiciest fruit, you’ve got to get out of the shade and out on the limb.

Prepare; Don’t Repair = There’s really only one way to ensure a great tomorrow, and that’s to have a good today. If you are always living so far ahead—planning, dreaming, theorizing—but you are never actually “doing,” today, you will never get to that future you are imagining, the picture of tomorrow that’s in your mind. Start building today what you envision for tomorrow. You have to start somewhere—so, start here, today.

Leaders should do THIS during adversities

Inspiring Quotes

Quotes About Inspiration or Inspiring

  • If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. --John Quincy Adams

Who Inspires You? | MWM
Who Inspires You? And what inspires you? John Maxwell tells us that, more than anything else, his greatest inspiration comes from adding value to others. If what he shares can lift your day, give you a new perspective, or nudge you in the right direction, that’s his “why.” It’s why he writes. It’s why he speaks.

What Are You Inspired to Do?
https://youtu.be/8ywvliUL3sg
Lead With Inspiration = There is a difference between being inspired and being motivated. Inspiration comes from within. Listen to yourself and pay attention to what you feel inspired and led to do. The way you live your life and overcome challenges can be an inspiration to others. Who are you meant to inspire? How can you show up in a way that is inspiring to others?

Are You Telling, or Are You Creating a Shared Experience?
Have A Hunger To Learn = When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Leaders should work to share an experience rather than just teaching it. A really good teacher makes the student part of the lesson, instead of trying to make the lesson part of the student. Teach well by sharing what you know with others.

Have Something Worth Saying = When you have something worth saying people will listen. How can you make content weighty and life-changing? The best content involves education, action, entertainment, and connection. Use these 4 things when you communicate and make your audience feel like they are a part of something … Your communication will advance to the next level.

Everyone Brings Something to the Table
Leverage The Differences = Every human being we interact with, at work or at home, brings a different perspective to the table. Today, there are 5 different generations working together in the workplace. They all bring different preferences, expectations, and perspectives to the team. This can be good or bad depending on how you respond. When approaching people with different perspectives it is important to remember these steps using this acronym ...

A LEG to stand on:
Ask questions
Listen well
Empathize
Guide

Different perspectives are a given … Are you leveraging them to the advantage of the organization?

What You See, Is What You Get = People all have a good side and a bad side—a side with ideals and dreams, and a human side. When you look at people, what you look for is what you'll see, and what you see is how you'll treat people. If you see the best in others, you'll bring out the best in others, and you'll receive the best from others.

One day, a financially comfortable father decided to take his son to the country, with the purpose of showing him how poor people live, and that the son could understand the value of things, and realize how fortunate they were.
They stayed overnight at a very humble family's farm for 1 day and 1 night. As the trip ended, and during their return home, the father asks his son:
So what did you think of the trip?
It was great, dad!
Did you see how poor and needy some people have to live?
Yes!
And what did you learn?
I saw that we have one dog in the house, but they have four. We have a huge swimming pool, but they have a river that never ever ends.  We have imported lamps in the patio, they have the stars.  Our backyard ends at the fence, but theirs goes on and on into the horizon. Especially though, dad, I saw that they have time to talk to each other and live as a family. You and Mom have to work all day, and I hardly see you both!
As the conversation ended, the father remained silent, and his son added:  Thanks Dad, for showing me how rich we could be!!

Colossians 3:2 ESV Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
1 John 4:5 These people belong to the world. That is why they speak from the world's perspective, and the world listens to them.
1 Corinthians 1:26 Brothers, consider your calling: Not many are wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.
2 Corinthians 11:18 Since many boast in an unspiritual way, I will also boast.
1 Corinthians 9:8 Am I saying this from a human perspective? Doesn’t the law also say the same thing?
Galatians 3:15 Brothers, I am speaking according to a human perspective. Nevertheless, [when] the covenant of a man has been ratified, no one declares [it] invalid or adds additional provisions [to it].
1 Corinthians 15:32 If according to a human perspective I fought wild beasts at Ephesus, what benefit [is it] to me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
Romans 3:5 But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? God, who inflicts wrath, [is] not unjust, [is he]? (I am speaking according to a human perspective.)

Intentional Quotes

Quotes About Being Intentional

  • Our intention creates our reality. Wayne Dyer
  • Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work. Peter F. Drucker
  • The smallest good deed is better than the grandest good intention. Duguet
  • Life is not a journey to the grave With the intention of arriving safely In a pretty and well-preserved body, But rather to skid in broadside, Thoroughly used up, Totally worn out, And loudly proclaiming --WOW -- What a ride!!! James Fineous McBride

Intentionality Paves the Way for Influence | MWM
Intentionality Leads To Influence = Successful leaders are intentional and create momentum. Be intentional with the questions you ask, the information you wish to gain, and the influence you wish to exhibit in a meeting or opportunity. What can you do to be intentional in your next meeting or event that will make others feel valued and thought about in advance? Intentionality paves the way for greater influence.

Leaders Build Bridges, Not Walls | MWM
Build Bridges = It is important to be intentional about making time for others and truly seeing them. Walk slowly through the crowd. This is a mindset where you intentionally build a bridge so others can get to you. Build bridges not walls. Don’t be too busy to see people.

The 3 Things You Need for Growth | MWM
Growth Requires Intention  = We have to be intentional and clear on the steps we need to take in order to grow. Growth requires 3 things:
  1. Knowledge about the area of growth
  2. Experience where we act on the knowledge we obtain
  3. A Coach or Mentor who can guide us, encourage us, and help us grow intentionally into who we want to become

You must be intentional if you want growth. In what area of your life would you like to be more intentional?

Life Doesn’t Give Us its Best When We Wait On It
Achievement Isn’t Accidental = Intentionality is one of the top ten things that leads to success. Life doesn’t give us its best when we wait on it and just accept things as they come. We can only go uphill and reach the top with intention. Improve your life quickly with intention.

Be Someone's Difference-Maker
Everyone Deserves Intentional Encouragement = Be intentional, and tell the people who are serving you, “Thank you for being here.” Be intentional, and write a handwritten thank you note to people 5 days a week. People are rarely encouraged, but when we are intentional and pause to look people in the eye, showing gratitude, we add value.

Live Intentionally = Good intentions need to be turned into good actions. In order to get the best that life has for you, you need to be purposeful, willful, and focused. If you don't prepare your life, you will spend your time repairing—by preparing your day and life, you will live intentionally.

Improve Your Life With Intentionality = Being intentional expands and improves your life. By being intentional, you take your good intentions from what you want to do, to what you will do.

Live on Purpose - Take your good intentions and turn them into good actions. In order to grow and be successful, you must add intentionality into your everyday life!

Are You Drifting or Steering? | MWM
Steer Your Life With Purpose = Intentional living is about making conscious choices that align with your values and goals. Intentionality is the difference between drifting through life versus steering it with purpose. Leaders must be deliberate in their actions and decisions so they can prioritize what truly matters. What are your intentional goals?

Mentorship Quotes

Quotes About Mentorship

  • Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction. -- John C. Crosby
  • My mentor said, "Let's go do it," not "You go do it." How powerful when someone says, "Let's!" — Jim Rohn
  • Our chief want in life is somebody who will make us do what we can. — Ralph Waldo Emerson
  • No man is capable of self-improvement if he sees no other model but himself. — Conrado I. Generoso
  • What I think the mentor gets is the great satisfaction of helping somebody along, helping somebody take advantage of an opportunity that maybe he or she did not have. — Clint Eastwood
  • What is a teacher? I’ll tell you: it isn’t someone who teaches something, but someone who inspires the student to give of her best in order to discover what she already knows. ― Paulo Coelho
  • A mentor takes people where they want to go. A great mentor takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go but ought to be. — Rosalynn Carter
  • Show me a successful individual, and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living — if you do it well, I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor. — Denzel Washington

How to Leave the World A Better Place
https://youtu.be/3fBXC6asdM0
Time To Step Up = Mentors don’t only provide wise counsel, but they lead by example. They have the opportunity to groom and cultivate others for success. You need mentors in your life, but maybe it is time to step up and mentor someone else.

Someone to Believe in You - People who know the way, go the way, and show the way. These people are called, Mentors. How special to have people in your life who want to see you become successful and deposit special information they know will help you grow. Who is your biggest mentor?

Leadership is visual—people will do what they see. When one person is doing and another person is watching, the person “doing” has become the other person’s mentor. And that person who is watching, is also likely growing. Spend time with others, keep them close-by, and let them watch you. You should be doing what you know they can become. That’s how you add value to others as a leader and mentor.

Today’s word is MENTORING, and these are just 4 defining characteristics of a quality mentor.

1. Walks alongside you
2. A brain to pick
3. An ear to listen
4. Possesses maturity

A mentor brings their experience into your life and colors it with maturity, soundness, and wisdom. A mentor is someone who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.

Whether it is your favorite author, or perhaps a life-long friend, look for the person who can help guide you on the successful path in life and wants to see you succeed.

If you think mentoring is all about teaching, You're WRONG! It’s About This
