Have A Growth-Oriented Mindset = Growth is about doing, being, and having more than we do right now. If we want more of anything in our life, it will require growth. There is room for growth in everything we do.

Growth Requires Intention  = We have to be intentional and clear on the steps we need to take in order to grow. Growth requires 3 things:
  1. Knowledge about the area of growth
  2. Experience where we act on the knowledge we obtain
  3. A Coach or Mentor who can guide us, encourage us, and help us grow intentionally into who we want to become

You must be intentional if you want growth. In what area of your life would you like to be more intentional?




Keep Growing = Growth is not automatic. Many people think that finishing school or getting a certificate as being finished with growth and learning, but this isn't the case. We are never done growing and learning, it should never stop. 

Read The Right Things Daily = Read daily so that you can grow in your personal life. We all read each day, but are you growing daily? It all depends on what you read! Read daily in the things that are your strengths—in adding value to people, in success, in being a better person—read in the areas where you are going to grow you, and be sure to read the right thing.

Listen To Broaden Your Perspective = Listen daily to broaden your perspective. You don't grow by talking, but instead by listening. It's important as a leader to see things through the eyes of others. This growth happens by listening to others and asking good questions, through hearing others talk about the things you need learn as you continue your growth journey.

Reflect and Think = Think daily to apply what you learn in life. Reflection turns experience into insight. By spending time thinking and reflecting on what you learn and experience, you can extract from that experience and reflect on your personal growth. 


Save All Your Ideas—File Them Away= File daily to preserve what you learn. Filing is our system to keep us from losing good ideas—when you read a good quote, see or hear a good story, you immediately file them away so you have access to them when the time is right. Filing keeps your thoughts, ideas, and learnings organized.

Grow Together = Growth is expected, it's not an option. The only guarantee that you will have a better future—in life, on a team, and as part of an organization—is if you are growing. The only way that you can go together, is if you grow together. Growth is expected in everything you do. 

Grow Into The Next Day = In life, we don't go into the next day, we grow into the next day. God's gift to us is our potential, and our gift back to Him is what we do with that potential.
