So often we ponder the what if’s in our lives, and we fail to focus on the what have’s. For instance, you can ask, “What if I had done this differently?” or you can reflect, asking, “What have I learned?” Everyone makes mistakes. But rather than mourning what you have seemingly lost—and the resounding adversity and failure—you can celebrate what you have gained, in insight, wisdom and character. Don’t waste time wishing for a do-over; you don’t need to start over. Instead, start now!

If things didn’t work out the first time, there was likely a reason why. And, if you don’t take the time to learn “the why,” improve and start over differently, then you are inevitably going to repeat the same mistakes. So, before you decide to start over, ask yourself these questions: What did you learn, and where and in what ways are you going to improve?
