Option Quotes

Quotes About Option

  • Having only one option is not an option.
  • Failure is not an option. Everyone has to succeed.
  • There's a silly notion that failure's not an option at NASA. Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough. --Elon Musk

The Choice You Make, Makes You | MWM
Always Choose The Best Option—For You = Have options—have the freedom to choose a different route. When you have options to choose from, step back, look at all of them clearly, and decide what is best for you. Take the best optio—for you.

What's best for you? = The great thing about options - you have multiple to choose from. It allows you to really focus on what is best for YOU! Next time you meet the fork in the road take a step back and think to yourself, what is really good for your path.

The Options are Endless = Before you set sail on your journey be sure you have the full understanding of what it will take to get there. Keep charting the course to success and keep those around you that will help you succeed!

Isn't it incredible that we have the option to say yes or no? It is up to us whether we want to succeed or fail. You see, the options are truly endless and it leaves a little bit of hope that if something doesn't work the first time you have the option to try it differently the second time around. There is a sense of power for those that have options.

Take Care of Today and Tomorrow Will Have a High Degree of Success | MWM
Notice What Is Right In Front Of You = In his book, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, John Maxwell discusses the Law of Navigation, which says that anyone can steer the ship, but it takes a leader to chart the course. Have the ability to seize the moment and see the moment. Those who navigate are flexible and can adjust to things that come up last minute. If you take care of today really well, tomorrow will have a high degree of success.

Assess & Adjust Accordingly
Understand The Situation = The Book Of The Week is How To Lead When Your Boss Can’t (Or Won’t). We have to navigate and move based on the conditions that are around us. When we have a bad boss, it is important to look at the situation and try to understand what our boss is going through … Then we can make adjustments based upon that understanding. Is it a fleeting situation or is it a permanent issue? Navigating is essential in creating a wholesome climate in the workplace.

The Law of Navigation = Isn't it incredible that we have the option to say yes or no? It is up to us whether we want to succeed or fail. You see, the options are truly endless and it leaves a little bit of hope that if something doesn't work the first time you have the option to try it differently the second time around. Expectation Quotes

Quotes About Expectations

  • Rely on the ordinary virtues that intelligent, balanced human beings have relied on for centuries: common sense, thrift, realistic expectations, patience, and perseverance. John C. Bogle (1929-) American Investor

  • When you expect things to happen, strangely enough, they do happen.
  • You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them. Michael Jordan
  • Other people may not have had high expectations for me... but I had high expectations for myself. Shannon Miller

================
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED | MWM
Expect the unexpected and be ready to handle it—that's a key part of being resilient. We often make plans and think everything will go smoothly from start to finish, but life doesn't always work that way. Challenges, setbacks, and even surprise opportunities can throw us off track. Being prepared is what helps us stay strong and adapt when things don’t go as planned.

Expectation is a Powerful Force | MWM
Expectation Is A Powerful Force = Our expectations—what we believe is going to happen in the future—are grounded in our beliefs. Our expectations don't only affect us, they can affect others as well. Expectation is a very powerful thing. If people expect great things from us, we lean into that, and we become better people because of it.

================

Be Upfront with Your Expectations | MWM
Share Your Expectations Upfront = It is important to have upfront expectations. As a leader and a friend, lay out the issues at the beginning of a relationship. Don’t wait until the “ideal moment.” Then you can build and develop a good relationship where no one feels manipulated or blindsided. The longer you withhold your expectations from people, the harder it is for those expectations to be a reality in their life.
Be Upfront With Your Expectations = Always be upfront with your expectations. The longer you withhold the expectations of others, the harder it is for those expectations to become a reality in their life. Lay out all of the issues at the beginning, and then you can build on those and develop a relationship.

The Goal is More Important Than the Role | MWM
It’s About The Whole = The first upfront expectation is that it is not about you or me, but it is always about the big picture. It is about what is best for the organization or the whole. The goal is more important than the role, and the vision of the organization is more important than one piece of that vision.
You Always Need To Look At The Big Picture = In all aspects of life and leadership, you always need to look at the big picture and what is best for the whole. The idea that it is not about you, and not about me, but instead, always about the big picture needs to remain the leading idea. You will always experience moments where you don’t fully agree with a decision and are left disappointed, but the final choice is always about what is best for the whole in order to meet the goal.

====================

Practice + High Expectations = Mastery
https://youtu.be/dsQkTRU8-i4
Are You Motivated By Mastery? = In his book, The Leader’s Greatest Return, John Maxwell discusses what motivates people and how it is important to sit down with your team and learn what motivates them. Mastery is one of the 7 motivations he discusses. A person who is motivated by mastery loves to do things extremely well and exceed expectations. To become a person of mastery, don’t try to master everything, but focus on the one thing that would really benefit your life. When you discover that thing, practice every day, have high expectations, and give 100%.

Have High Expectations = When you can’t wait to deliver a message, the audience can’t wait to hear it. People can tell when a speaker loves what they talk about. Next time you prepare a lesson and get ready to teach, feel good about it, believe the best about it, have high expectations, and anticipate that it will be the best message you have ever given … and it will help you help people.

UPFRONT EXPECTATIONS
Lay Out Expectations From The Beginning = UPFRONT EXPECTATIONS = It is important to have upfront expectations—because the longer you wait, the worse it becomes. Be sure to lay out all the issues and needs in the beginning, and then build upon those to develop a good relationship with others. The longer you withhold expectations of people that they need to know and meet, the harder it is for those expectations to become a reality in their life.

https://youtu.be/YNBP6CPcZ4U
Focus On The Big Picture = It's not about you, it's not about me, it's always about the big picture. It's always about what's best for the whole, and the goal is more important than the role. Always look towards the big picture.

https://youtu.be/nfALDYKtrJ8
Grow Together = Growth is expected, it's not an option. The only guarantee that you will have a better future—in life, on a team, and as part of an organization—is if you are growing. The only way that you can go together, is if you grow together. Growth is expected in everything you do.

Always Value Others = It is important to value people, because people are valuable. When you value people, you add value to them. The more you value others, the more you add value to them, and the more you add value to the world.

Take Responsibility of Your Actions = People love to be empowered, but need to embrace the responsibility. When you are empowered to do things in life, the key is to take responsibility for it and follow through—whether that is taking responsibility for failure, or being the one to acknowledge its successes. Be responsible every time.

Have The Tough Conversations = There will be tough conversations in life. When you are dealing with people, there will always be positive and negative conversations about life's situations—the tough conversations are what it is all about and whether we deal with them or ignore them. The key is to have those tough conversations about situations in life, and always move forward.

What Do I Do Next? | MWM
Aim For Growth, Not Just Goals = Shift your focus from simply setting goals to making a commitment to personal growth. When you set a goal, you reach it—and then what comes next? This approach can lead to a cycle of constantly chasing new goals without truly growing as a leader. By adopting a growth mindset, you ensure continuous development. Instead of moving from one achievement to another, you keep growing—and as a result, you’ll naturally reach all of your goals along the way.

Challenge Your Growth Assumptions | MWM
Close your growth gap. How far you go is determined by how much you're willing to grow. It's not just about knowing the steps to take—it's about understanding the personal growth required to reach your most meaningful goals.

Find Growth Wherever You Are, in Whatever You Do | MWM
Accelerate Your Success = When we live life with Intentional growth, we walk into situations looking for ways to grow, and we seek out inspiration. It means we stay passionate about growing and have an unquenchable curiosity about learning things that can give application to help others. Are you walking through life with a lens to grow intentionally?

MWM |15 LAWS
Your Guide To Growth = John Maxwell considers his book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, one of his top 5 books. The only way to guarantee that we are better tomorrow than we are today, is to be growing right now. The laws discussed in this book will help you grow, expand your possibilities, and develop yourself so you can have an incredible future.

Do You Have a Personal Growth Plan? | MWM
Growth Isn’t Automatic = The first law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of intentionality. It says that growth doesn’t just happen. Getting older is automatic, but getting better is not. In order to become better, you must have a personal growth plan—you must be intentional in your life. Intentional living takes good intentions and turns them into good actions. If you are going to grow, you must grow your purpose.
#intentional

You Can’t Fix What You Don’t See | MWM
See More. Do More. Be More. = The second law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of awareness. It says that you must know yourself to grow yourself. We can’t fix things in our life if we are unaware of them. Ask others to help and expose you to the areas where you are blind. When you see things you have never seen before, you can do things you have never done before, and become someone you have never been before.
#Awareness

Your Self-Worth = Your Potential | MWM
Grow Yourself To Grow Others = The third law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of the mirror. It says that you must see value in yourself to add value to yourself. It is important to believe in yourself, but it is more important to have self worth. This is because we rise to the level of our self worth, not to the level of our belief. A solid self worth allows you to build a foundation for growth and development.
#Mirror #self-awareness

Reflection Turns Experience into Insight | MWM
Stop. Reflect. Learn. = The fourth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of reflection. It says that learning to pause allows growth to catch up with you. Experience alone isn’t the best teacher, but reflecting on our experiences is what allows us to learn and grow. Reflection turns experience into insight.

Motivation Gets You Going; Consistency Keeps You Growing | MWM
Consistency Compounds Growth = The fifth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of consistency. It says that motivation gets you going, but discipline—or consistency—keeps you growing. We overestimate intensity and underestimate consistency. You don’t have to do something all day, but every day, to see growth and success in your life. Your life and growth has to be stored up before it shows up.
#Consistency

Who You’re With is Who You Become | MWM
Develop Your Own Personal Growth Environment = The sixth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of environment. It says that growth thrives in conducive surroundings. Are you in a growth oriented organization? Develop your own personal growth environment. When you change your surroundings, you will discover that who you are with determines who you become, how you learn, and how you develop.
#environment

Hope is Not a Strategy | MWM
Develop A Strategy For Your Growth = The seventh law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of design. It says that to maximize growth, you must develop strategies. Hope is not a strategy; you need something specific that you want to accomplish in order to grow and develop. A strategy will help you get from where you are to where you want to go.
#design

Bad Experience + Good Management = Great Growth | MWM
Grow Through Adversity  = The eighth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of pain. It says that good management of bad experiences leads to great growth. In growth, there is a lot of struggle. We all experience challenges and adversity, but our pain can allow us to grow. We learn to adjust and ask for help in the uphill journey. Your mindset is a choice. Make the decision to learn from your pain, and allow it to make you a better person.
#pain

Better on the Inside Means Better on the Outside | MWM
Develop Your Character = The ninth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of the ladder. It says that character growth determines the height of personal growth. Ladders help you go higher than you can on your own. Character is the ladder of your life. When you have good character and are better on the inside, it will be evident in your actions.
#Ladder

Discover the Law of the Rubber Band | MWM
Stretch Yourself = The tenth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of the rubber band. It says that growth stops when you lose the tension between where you are and where you could be. A rubber band only has value when it is stretched. When we are stretched, we become who we are supposed to be. We improve only when we expand and stretch ourselves.

What Are You Trading for the Next Level? | MWM
Grow Up The Mountain = The eleventh law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of tradeoffs. It says that we have to give up to go up. In order to go higher, you have to go lighter and tradeoff for things that are more important. You will grow out of things, and while it may be harder to give things up as you continue higher in your journey, it is worth the tradeoff!

Dream of Things That Could Be and Ask, “Why Not?” | MWM
Ask The Curious Questions = The twelfth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of curiosity. It says that growth is stimulated by asking ‘why.’ When we ask the curious questions, we allow ourselves to explore a future that most don’t get to experience. Ask the questions that allow you to jump the fence!
#Curiosity

Growth Requires a Model | MWM
Find A Model To Follow = The thirteenth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of modeling. It says that it is hard to improve when you have no one but yourself to follow. Most of us grow because we saw someone else grow, develop, and progress. Get out and meet people who are able to show you a new path. Follow in the footsteps of a mentor or model.
#model

The More You Grow, the More You CAN Grow | MWM
Get Better As You Get Older = The fourteenth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of expansion. It says that growth always increases your capacity. The greatest asset from personal growth is that it increases your capacity to grow and learn. There is no finish line when you apply this law to your life.

How Your Development Can Benefit Those Around You | MWM
Pass On Value To Others = The fifteenth law discussed in John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth, is the law of contribution. It says that growing yourself enables you to grow others. When you live the law of contribution and significance you add value to others. They get better and you become fulfilled.
#contribution

=================================================
Never Stop Learning and Growing | MWM
Never Stop Learning And Growing = Growth is not automatic. Because of this John Maxwell has 4 growth practices in his life. Success is determined by growth, and it is the only thing that guarantees things will improve. We should never be done learning, and should always continue to develop and grow.
Never Stop Learning and Growing = Growth and learning should never stop in your life. In many cases, when people reach a learning milestone, people think they are done and the learning is finished, but this is not the case. Always continue to learn and grow, as there is always something new out there.

Read the Right Things Daily | MWM
Read The Right Things Daily = The first growth practice is read daily so you can grow your personal life. Are you growing every day? It depends on what you read. Read in the areas that will build you and make you a better, stronger person. What kind of books do you read?
Read the Right Things Daily =  Everybody reads daily, but are you growing daily? Are you reading the right things? Read daily about the things that are your strengths—about adding value to people, about success, about being a better communicator—read daily about the things that are going to make you stronger in the areas you need to be strong and effective. What are you going to read today?
#read

See Through the Eyes of Others | MWM
Ask Good Questions = The second growth practice is to listen daily to broaden your perspective. It is important for leaders to see through the eyes of other people. Ask your team questions and listen! You don’t learn by talking, only by listening and then asking good questions.
Listen and See Things Through The Eyes of Others = The best leaders are not found by talking to them, they are found by listening to them, hearing their perspective, and seeing things through their eyes. If you are going to lead others, you need to have the time to find them first, and to find them, you have to listen to them. All great leaders grow by listening and seeing things through the eyes of others. So, listen daily to broaden your perspective.
#listen

Reflection Turns Experience into Insight | MWM
Be A Sustained Thinker = The third growth practice is to think daily and apply what you have learned. Evaluated experience is the best teacher. Reflection turns experience into insight. After a new experience, ask yourself “What did I love? What did I learn?” and you will grow. Sustained thinkers look for a better, bigger, deeper answer.
Think and Reflect Daily = By thinking and reflecting daily, you can turn your experiences into insights as you are always looking for the better answer. What you think and reflect on is what teaches you, and what grows you.
#think

John Maxwell’s System that Sustains Him Daily | MWM
https://youtu.be/woK1vUOBwqQ
File What You Learn = The fourth growth practice is to file daily to preserve what you learn. Filing gives you a system to keep you from losing good material. Save your ideas and thoughts and it will help you add value to others.
Are You Filing Daily? = Whenever you read a good book, hear a good story, or see something that is important, remember to file it away. By filing daily the things you learn, you create a personal system of good material and ideas that is ready when you need it.
#File

==================

Growth Leads to Being, Doing, and Having More | MWM

Have A Growth-Oriented Mindset = Growth is about doing, being, and having more than we do right now. If we want more of anything in our life, it will require growth. There is room for growth in everything we do.

Shift from a goal-oriented mindset to a growth-oriented one. This will result in a focus on the journey over the destination, where growth continues even after a goal is reached. Where would you like to see growth in your life today?

The 3 Things You Need for Growth | MWM

Growth Requires Intention  = We have to be intentional and clear on the steps we need to take in order to grow. Growth requires 3 things:
  1. Knowledge about the area of growth
  2. Experience where we act on the knowledge we obtain
  3. A Coach or Mentor who can guide us, encourage us, and help us grow intentionally into who we want to become

You must be intentional if you want growth. In what area of your life would you like to be more intentional?

Keep Growing = Growth is not automatic. Many people think that finishing school or getting a certificate as being finished with growth and learning, but this isn't the case. We are never done growing and learning, it should never stop.

Read The Right Things Daily = Read daily so that you can grow in your personal life. We all read each day, but are you growing daily? It all depends on what you read! Read daily in the things that are your strengths—in adding value to people, in success, in being a better person—read in the areas where you are going to grow you, and be sure to read the right thing.

Listen To Broaden Your Perspective = Listen daily to broaden your perspective. You don't grow by talking, but instead by listening. It's important as a leader to see things through the eyes of others. This growth happens by listening to others and asking good questions, through hearing others talk about the things you need learn as you continue your growth journey.

Reflect and Think = Think daily to apply what you learn in life. Reflection turns experience into insight. By spending time thinking and reflecting on what you learn and experience, you can extract from that experience and reflect on your personal growth.

Save All Your Ideas—File Them Away= File daily to preserve what you learn. Filing is our system to keep us from losing good ideas—when you read a good quote, see or hear a good story, you immediately file them away so you have access to them when the time is right. Filing keeps your thoughts, ideas, and learnings organized.

Growth without a finish line
Improving yourself is the first step in improving everything else in your life. If you want to grow in life, you have to grow intentionally. Hear from John Maxwell on how to create a growth plan for your success.
We need to move from growth in everything to growth in essential things. What areas are you going to grow in?
What would you eliminate to focus on the essential areas of growth?

The Only Guarantee the Next Day Will be Better… | MWM
https://youtu.be/Koq6INroexI
Always Be Growing = Success is about growing to reach our potential. God’s gift to us is our potential, and our gift back to Him is what we do with that potential. Discover your purpose, know what your strengths are, and focus your time and energy on growing in those areas. You get the highest return in life from doing what you are good at.

==========================

https://youtu.be/nfALDYKtrJ8
Grow Together = Growth is expected, it's not an option. The only guarantee that you will have a better future—in life, on a team, and as part of an organization—is if you are growing. The only way that you can go together, is if you grow together. Growth is expected in everything you do.

Grow Into The Next Day = In life, we don't go into the next day, we grow into the next day. God's gift to us is our potential, and our gift back to Him is what we do with that potential. Once we discover our strengths and purpose—that is where we want to focus our time, efforts, and energy—we need to use those strengths to get our highest return in life. We need to always be growing.
Growth is Success = By always growing to reach your maximum potential, you can reach success. Our gift is our potential, and our gift back is what we do with our potential. Always be growing into your potential. Always be growing, because that is what success is.

https://youtu.be/1_7oniLx7ws
Keep Growing and Learning = The only guarantee that you will have a better tomorrow is that you are growing today. You do not go into possibilities and opportunities, you grow into possibilities and opportunities. This mindset becomes the natural thing to those who keep learning, growing, expanding, and stretching to become a better version of themselves.

The minutes add up= Growth is a result of being intentional. Everyday if you set aside a few minutes to focus on your growth journey, you will develop a little bit more. Stay consistent!

Intentional Growth Plan = Life-changing lessons, leading to life-changing moments. In order to have a better tomorrow, you need to be growing today.

Goal-Oriented to Growth-Oriented (Part 1)
https://youtu.be/nlH6MJgnlKw
Stop asking, “How long will this take?” Start asking, “How far can I go?” This week, John Maxwell, Traci Morrow, and Mark Cole begin a two-part series on how to change from being a goal-oriented person to a growth-oriented person.
Key takeaways:
- Improving yourself is the first step in improving everything else in your life.
- Growth on the inside feeds growth on the outside.
