Leaders Eat Pressure for Lunch | MWM
Pressure Is An Opportunity for Leaders = The reality of leadership is pressure. And in effective leadership, it is how you deal with that pressure that is the difference maker.  As leaders, you find things that others don't find, you feel things that others don't feel, you see things that others don't see, and you know things that others don't know—this creates a pressure to perform and communicate in a way that positively impacts people. Don’t see pressure as the enemy, see it as an opportunity, as the confirmation that you are tasked with this job.

Keep Your Composure
Stress is a normal part of life. But it can become a problem when it dominates your life. If you feel your composure slipping, perhaps it’s because you are entirely too focused on the small picture. When you get caught up in the obstacle that appears directly in front of you—hindering your next few steps—look up, look farther, look beyond the problem at the big picture. That’s where you will find the possibilities, and along with those possibilities, your composure.

MWM | Responding vs Reacting

Respond Thoughtfully = The difference between responding and reacting lies with agility. Reacting is emotional and short-sighted, while responding is thoughtful, grounding, and has a long-term vision. Agile leaders take a breath, assess, and choose a course of action that aligns with their values and goals, even under pressure. This composure builds trust in their teams, and it helps them handle crises with calmness and consistency. This keeps everyone focused and moving forward.

Leaders Calm Their People
Pursue A Peace That Passes All Understanding = Calm is more than emotion and a sense of serenity. Calm is about an essence that good leaders exude for their people, specifically in difficult times. When leaders create a calming environment for others during difficult times, their leadership shines. Good leaders learn how to pursue calm even in the midst of adversity.
